Suspects in the case of a man brutally beaten in Aschaffenburg are known to police. A 20-year-old in particular has previously been known for assaults, according to a police spokesperson. The motive for the man and his 21-year-old accomplice to attack their victim for at least half an hour on Sunday morning remains unknown. The men did not provide any reasons to the investigating judge.

According to police reports, the suspects were drunk during the attack, with breath alcohol levels of 1.0 and 1.5 recorded.

The 48-year-old victim has not yet been able to be questioned due to his severe head injuries, but his life is not in danger, the spokesperson said.

The suspects from the Aschaffenburg area had reportedly filmed the attack alternately with their smartphones and were caught by police in the act. They were taken into custody on Monday on charges of dangerous bodily harm.

The incident of criminal assault in Aschaffenburg involves the suspects who were caught on film during the attack. Their prior records include assault charges, as the 20-year-old has been known to police for such crimes.
