Most AfD lawmakers avoid attending Selenskyj's address in the German parliament.
"Selenskyj's time in office has come to an end as far as the leaders of AfD are concerned. They view him as a president solely focused on war and begging. On Monday, they made the decision to skip Selenskyj's speech. They believe Ukraine needs a president who can negotiate for peace, so the violence can end and the country can move forward. Only a handful of AfD parliamentarians showed up for Selenskyj's address in the plenary session."
"Similarly, members of the BSW party, which originated from the Left Party, also chose not to join the Bundestag's special session featuring the Ukrainian president.
BSW's foreign policy expert, Sevim Dagdelen, spoke to the news outlet AFP and shared their stance: "By choosing to boycott, we're also sending a message of solidarity to all Ukrainians who want an immediate ceasefire and a negotiated peace instead of being forced to fight in an unwinnable war under Selenskyj's leadership."
