Mortal remains found: Police assume accident
The remains of a missing man have been found after more than three years. Investigators assume that the man died in an accident near Ruhpolding (Traunstein district). According to a police statement on Wednesday, there are no indications that he was not at fault. The large-scale search for the 54-year-old in September 2020 was initially unsuccessful. However, officers discovered the man's locked car. On Monday, workers found the backpack and the remains of the missing man in a wooded area.
The location of the accident was in the picturesque region of Upper Bavaria, near Ruhpolding. Despite the tragic finding, no traffic-related incidents or accidents have been reported in the vicinity since then.
