More traffic on Baden-Württemberg's roads again

Traffic in Baden-Württemberg increased again in 2022 - four percent more than in the previous year, the State Statistical Office in Stuttgart calculated in a statement on Thursday. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, car traffic in particular declined in 2021 and 2020. A total of 85 billion kilometers were driven in Baden-Württemberg in 2022.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, mileage fell by 15 billion kilometers (minus 16 percent) in 2020 compared to 2019. In 2020, the figure was still 80 billion kilometers, which corresponds to the level at the beginning of the 1990s.

The rise in traffic in Baden-Württemberg in 2022 also resulted in an increase in traffic statistics, with a total of 85 billion kilometers driven. Despite the decline in car traffic due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, mileage still reached 80 billion kilometers, a level not seen since the beginning of the 1990s.
