Social affairs - "More than a hot meal" - Christmas for the homeless
Under the motto "More than a warm meal", more than 450 homeless people and other Hamburg residents in need were once again able to celebrate a Christmas party in the Fischauktionshalle on Tuesday evening. In addition to a three-course meal with drinks, there was also a show program with the Hamburg Gospel Train, the Vorstadtwibes choir and performances by Peter Sebastian & Friends and singer Ingo Pohlmann. "This way, people who are so often not thought of can escape their everyday lives for a few hours, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and let themselves be pampered," said initiator Sven Flohr from the Friends Cup Förderverein.
For the 12th edition of the event, 100 volunteers and a number of celebrities, including actresses Lilli Holunder and Rhea Harder-Vennewald, were once again ready to put their waitressing skills to the test. The Barber Angels offered their hairdressing services to the guests, and photographer Carlos Kella and his team took black and white portraits as souvenirs.

At the end of the meal, some of the homeless guests received hamburgers as a festive treat, reminiscent of a typical Christmas dinner. Recognizing the importance of community during difficult times, friends of the initiator gathered to volunteer, ensuring that everyone felt included and special on this special night.
