The Highfield Festival at Lake Störmthal near Leipzig offers three days of celebration, listening to favorite artists, and relaxing by the lake. According to the organizers, this is Saxony's largest rock festival and is almost sold out. "We're expecting around 30,000 visitors, and there are still some tickets left for categories like multi-day or day passes," said a spokesperson for the concert agency FKP Scorpio. "Guests are looking forward to their favorite acts and a carefree time by the lake."
From Friday (16th August) to Sunday (18th August), around 50 artists from genres like indie-rock, hip-hop, and rock will perform, including many well-known music greats. Some of the opening acts on Friday include Peter Fox, Alligatoah, and the Donots, followed by Rise Against, Cro, and Feine Sahne Fischfilet. The festival will close on Sunday with performances by Mando Diao, Marsimoto, and Macklemore.
Daytime Swimming and Music
One of the unique features of Highfield is its location by the lake. "The festival has its own beach area, which is also used for small concerts, beach volleyball, and other activities," emphasized the spokesperson. This allows visitors to swim in the lake during the day, relax on the beach, and enjoy music at the beach stage. A festival pass for all days costs 199 euros, and day tickets are 99 euros.
Many festival-goers arrive on Thursday and take over the campsite. For those who prefer a higher level of comfort, pre-erected tents or accommodations in a resort can be booked. There's a shuttle bus from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof to the festival grounds, costing 10 euros per person. Additionally, a free bus shuttle is offered to the nearby Pösna Park.

Visitors are eager to see their favorite acts and enjoy a carefree time by the lake during the festival.
