Statistics - More than 18,000 school leavers in the past school year

In the 2022/23 school year, 18,303 pupils left general education schools in Saxony-Anhalt. This was 477 more than in the previous school year, according to the State Statistical Office in Halle on Tuesday. Among other things, 8868 school leavers (48.5 percent) achieved the intermediate school-leaving certificate and 5004 graduates (27.3 percent) the general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur). According to the statistics, 2088 (11.4 percent) left school with a lower secondary school leaving certificate or qualified lower secondary school leaving certificate. General education schools include elementary school, lower secondary schools, intermediate secondary schools, grammar schools, comprehensive schools and special schools.
