More than 140 applications for demography prize
141 applications have been received for the Saxony-Anhalt Demography Prize. "Among the applicants are, for example, sports and local history clubs, kindergartens and schools as well as numerous leisure activities for young and old and projects to attract young people," explained a spokesperson for the Ministry of Infrastructure on Monday. "It is encouraging to see how institutions, clubs and private individuals are constantly contributing new ideas, a great deal of imagination and a high level of personal commitment to making our Saxony-Anhalt fit for the future, quite simply making it even more liveable," said Minister Lydia Hüskens (FDP).
Saxony-Anhalt is looking for innovative projects for the prize that contribute to shaping demographic change in the state. Citizens, companies, associations, networks and local authorities can apply. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, a total of 10,000 euros is available for prize money. A jury will select three winners and, for the first time, there will also be an audience award, which will be determined via an online vote. The award ceremony is planned for November 30.
The population of Saxony-Anhalt eagerly awaits the results, as over 140 applications for the demography prize have been submitted. The winning projects, chosen by a jury and an audience award, could potentially influence the region's demographic awards and trends.
