More than 100 flights canceled at Munich Airport
More than 100 take-offs and landings have been canceled at Munich Airport due to the weather. The reasons for this are snowfall and low temperatures at the airport, a spokesperson said on Friday. As things stand, around 130 flights are unable to take off or land. At least one runway is to remain clear at all times. The runways will be cleared alternately. Passengers are asked to contact their airline to find out about any cancellations. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), it is expected to snow continuously until Saturday, so the airport anticipates further cancellations.
The continuous snowfall and low temperatures in Upper Bavaria have significantly impacted air traffic at Munich Airport, leading to the cancellation of over 100 flights. Due to the inclement weather and the storm conditions, air traffic control has prioritized maintaining one clear runway for take-offs and landings.
