Pasta - More spaetzle and noodles from Riesa: New plant launched

Teigwaren Riesa GmbH can expand its production capacity with a new spaetzle and rolled noodle line. After a construction period of just over four months, the plant, which was acquired following the closure of Schätzle GmbH in Waiblingen (Baden-Württemberg), was put into operation on Monday. According to a spokeswoman for the long-established Riesa-based company, this will enable it to produce 20,000 tons more pasta per year at full capacity. The current figure is 25,000 tons.

Teigwaren Riesa GmbH, which currently employs around 150 people, has belonged to the Freidler family of entrepreneurs from Baden-Württemberg since 1993, who also own the Swabian pasta manufacturer Alb-Gold. Since the beginning of October, the Irish company Biavest, an investment company specializing in the food industry, has held 80 percent of the shares. The annual turnover in 2022 was 40 million euros.
