Weather - More snow and risk of icy roads on Tuesday

Fresh snow and frost are expected in Berlin and Brandenburg on Tuesday. In the morning, the German Weather Service (DWD) warns of icy conditions and frosty temperatures between minus two and minus six degrees. During the day, temperatures will not climb above freezing point, with up to plus one degree possible only in the southwest.

One to five centimetres of fresh snow will fall during the day, with the snowfall gradually subsiding in the southwest and south. In the northwest and west of Brandenburg, it will change to freezing rain locally. A weak to moderate wind will blow.

Snow or sleet will fall again on Wednesday night. In the north-eastern half of the country, there will be several centimetres of fresh snow, while freezing rain will increase the risk of slippery conditions, especially in the south-western half of the country. The lowest temperatures will be between zero and minus four degrees.

Even more snow will fall in the north on Wednesday, otherwise mostly sleet or rain, some of which will freeze. Temperatures will reach zero to plus three degrees. With the exception of the north-east, where temperatures will remain around freezing point at between minus two and zero degrees.
