More right-wing extremist activities in the third quarter
Right-wing extremist activities in Brandenburg increased slightly in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter. According to preliminary figures, the police reported 16 events, including four song evenings and one concert, as the Ministry of the Interior in Potsdam announced in response to a question from Andrea Johlige, member of the state parliament for the Left Party. The authorities had already banned another concert in advance.
In the second quarter of this year, 13 right-wing extremist activities were registered, including four song recitals and one concert. Another song recital had previously been banned.
At least seven events were registered in the third quarter by the small party Der Dritte Weg, which had called for a halt to asylum procedures, among other things. The NPD youth organization advertised its participation in a soccer tournament. According to the ministry, crimes occurred at the beginning of July between the Uckermark villages of Weggun and Krewitz when swastikas were daubed on the road.
The increase in right-wing extremist activities in the third quarter has raised concerns about criminal activities associated with these groups. A crime involving the vandalism of roads with swastikas was reported in the Uckermark region during this period.
