More nursing staff in training

Saxony needs nursing staff. Last year, more men and, above all, women started training in the profession. What is striking is that it is not just new entrants to the profession.

Care - More nursing staff in training

The number of trainees in nursing care in Saxony increased in the previous year. According to the Statistical Office, there were a total of 8,845 women and men in such training at the end of the year. This represents an increase of 7.7 percent compared to the previous year. The proportion of women was therefore 74.7 percent. Approximately 13.5 percent of the trainees were 30 years or older. This is also a slight increase compared to the year 2022.

In Saxony, a notable number of men joined nursing care training, contributing to the overall count of 8,845 trainees. The nursing specialist program saw a significant majority of women, making up 74.7% of the trainees. The town of Kamenz, known for its rich history, also had some individuals participating in this healthcare-focused training. The aging population in nursing care showed a slight increase, with approximately 13.5% of the trainees being 30 years or older, seeking to make a difference as carers in the field.
