- More business applications in the first half of the year
In the first six months of this year, there have been significantly more business registrations than deregistrations in Saxony-Anhalt. According to the State Statistical Office, nearly 5,850 new businesses were registered in the first half of the year. Simultaneously, around 4,800 businesses were deregistered.
As in the previous year, the number of business registrations has seen particularly strong growth in the health and social services sector, with an increase of over 34%. The energy supply sector also saw a significant increase of nearly 28%.
While in the years following 2010, more businesses were deregistered each year than new ones were registered, this trend has reversed since 2021, with more business registrations now taking place.
