Borussia Mönchengladbach prolonged the contract of their routine goalkeeper, Tobias Sippel. The 36-year-old will be with the team from the Lower Rhine until June 30, 2025, as announced on Friday. Sippel has been part of Borussia since 2015 and has played 25 matches for the club up until now. Initially, he was the backup goalkeeper, but he gradually slid down the pecking order in recent times. Last season, he didn't play at all.

Sippel expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm entering my ninth season with Borussia. My role has changed a bit but it's still extremely fun to help the younger keepers here and push them to improve through training." Sport-Business manager, Roland Virkus, also weighed in, praising Sippel's adaptability and reliability: "He understands his position and has shown multiple times that he can be trusted when called upon."
