Thuringian Landtag deputies held a minute of silence in memory of the police officer who was killed a week ago in Mannheim. While the parliament was in the middle of an ongoing debate, members rose from their seats. In front of the Landtag building, flags were flying at half-mast.

Upon request from the police in Baden-Württemberg, this moment of silence was observed. A 25-year-old Afghan attacked the Islam-critical group Pax Europa and a 29-year-old officer on Mannheim's market square, resulting in the officer's death from his injuries on Sunday.
