Health - Mobile surgeries will be traveling through Rhineland-Palatinate next year

In the coming year, two mobile medical practices are to travel through Rhineland-Palatinate to close gaps in medical care. "The mobile medical practice is a vehicle equipped like a GP practice," said the Chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, Peter Heinz, on Wednesday. The mobile practices will each be staffed by a doctor and a person with medical training. Half of the investment costs will be borne by the Ministry of Health.

"The use of mobile medical practices in Rhineland-Palatinate offers the opportunity to close acute gaps in GP care," said Health Minister Clemens Hoch (SPD). The service is to be flexibly tailored to local needs. The mobile medical practices are to remain in one location on a daily basis and for a maximum of a few months.
