Well-being - Mobile care unit attends to individuals affected by flooding
Following the destructive flood in Babenhausen, Unterallgäu, the locals now have access to a temporary solution. The Bavarian Medical Association revealed on Tuesday that a large general practitioner's practice was forced to shut down because of flood damage. Since healthcare in Babenhausen cannot currently be reinstated in permanent spaces, a mobile practice has been installed on the parking lot of a gym hall. Starting from Wednesday, emergency doctors will be open for business there for four hours a day to tend to locals with urgent concerns.
The aforementioned mobile clinic belongs to the Red Cross and was transported from Schleswig-Holstein to Bavaria for usage in Swabia. According to the Bavarian Red Cross, this is a transportation vehicle in which the interior is divided into two treatment rooms and a waiting area. "Various diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, ECG, and orthoscope will also be brought along in the mobile doctor's practice," the German Red Cross shared. They have a total of four such mobile practices.
