- Missing teenager found dead in Danube

A 17-year-old was found dead at a power plant on the Danube in Ulm. It was confirmed to be the teenager who had been missing since Friday, according to an employee of the local police control center.

The police had previously reported that the minor was likely drowned in the Danube, with no indications that the missing person had reached the shore. No new information on the cause of death was immediately available.

The current in the water was still very strong, the police had reported. A helicopter was deployed on Sunday morning to search for the boy.

Group attempted to swim from Ulm to Neu-Ulm

The 17-year-old had reportedly tried to swim across the Danube from Ulm to Neu-Ulm with three other men. He had apparently gone underwater several times. The police did not provide further details about the other swimmers, citing privacy rights.

The police urgently warned against swimming in the Danube due to its strong current, given the recent incidents. In an emergency situation, bystanders were advised to call the local emergency number immediately.
