Neuer, 38, is waylaid by a stomach-intestinal infection in Thuringia. Nagelsmann doesn't anticipate him returning earlier than Wednesday; he visited the doctor that day to assess his condition. The coach said, "He's a bit tired and it's about him being fit enough for meaningful training."

A trip by the Muenchen player wouldn't make sense, as he could potentially spread the infection to other players. According to Nagelsmann, the illness is "nothing dramatic."

Since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Neuer hasn't donned the national team's jersey. A complex leg fracture sustained immediately after the tournament thwarted his plans.
