Missing persons cases - Missing 14-year-old American found safe and sound
A young American man, who went missing after stopping at a cruise ship in Warnemünde, has been safely found. Law enforcement officials announced that the 14-year-old was located near Potsdam during the night on Sunday.
Preliminary information suggests that the teenager was with a 19-year-old. They had reportedly made arrangements in Rostock. It is believed that the tourist may have had contacts through the gaming scene in Germany, which is why the police consider it possible that the encounter with the 19-year-old occurred as a result. The Rostock Criminal Police had traced the missing person's whereabouts through the analysis of technical data on Friday.
The autistic young man was traveling on the cruise ship "Caribbean Princess" with his grandmother. He had left the ship in Warnemünde on Thursday morning and had been missing since then. The police searched for him and his companion for three days, the latter being sought as an unknown witness. "There is currently no evidence of a criminal offense," the police statement read.
