- Mishap during a motorcycle club excursion leads to severe injury for an individual
In the midst of a group ride with fellow bikers in the Hunsrück area, a motorcyclist had a mishap. This unfortunate incident took place around noon on the K105 in Morbach, located between Kommen and Wederath (Bernkastel-Wittlich district), as per the police's evening report.
The motorcyclist, positioned second-to-last in the group, seemingly misunderstood an upcoming right bend and failed to initiate a lean, as per the police statement. Despite quick braking attempts, he veered off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch, falling from his machine.
The rider was forcefully ejected from his motorcycle and smashed into several small trees and bushes before coming to an unwelcome halt a few meters away. He endured severe wounds to his legs, torso, and chest. Initially, the on-site emergency medical personnel could not dismiss potential life-threatening injuries. However, subsequent evaluations at Wittlich Hospital declared that immediate fatality was not imminent.
After the fall, the motorcyclist's bike was left in a damaging accident, partially submerged in the ditch. Due to the severe injuries sustained, an ambulance was promptly called to the scene.
