Procedure - Ministry investigates allegations of right-wing extremism against employees

Lower Saxony's Ministry of the Environment is investigating allegations against an employee that could be linked to right-wing extremist activities. The employee has been transferred in-house and assigned other tasks until further notice, according to a ministry spokesperson in Hanover on Friday. They are in contact with the Ministry of the Interior and the relevant authorities. No information could be provided on the ongoing proceedings.

"As a public service employer, we take allegations against employees that are connected to right-wing extremist activities or give rise to such suspicions very seriously and investigate them consistently," the spokesperson said. The newspaper "taz" had previously reported on this.
