Minimal fall in unemployment in Hamburg in November

In view of the continuing weak economy, the number of unemployed in Hamburg has fallen only minimally. A total of 82,723 Hamburg residents were without a job in November, according to the Hamburg Employment Agency on Thursday. Although this is 0.1 percent less than in October of the current year, it is 11.7 percent more than in November 2022.

As in the two previous months, the unemployment rate in November was 7.6 percent, compared to 6.9 percent a year ago. According to the employment agency, the unemployment statistics for November refer to data collected up to the 13th of the month under review.

Despite the minimal decrease, the labor market in Hamburg continues to struggle, as evidenced by the 0.1% decrease in unemployment in November. This minimal fall in unemployment still leaves a significant number of individuals, 82,723, seeking employment in the city.
