Knee injury - Mini European Championship hopes for handball player Philipp Weber
National handball player Philipp Weber still has some hope of taking part in the European Championships at home in January. On Wednesday evening, the backcourt player was substituted in his club SC Magdeburg's DHB Cup round of 16 match against HSG Wetzlar. This was the 31-year-old's first appearance on the pitch since his knee injury in the Super Globe in November. Despite his injury, Weber had been called up by national coach Alfred Gislason to the provisional 35-man European Championship squad. The backcourt player last played for the national team in the double test against Egypt.
