Football match coming up - Millot and Sildillia make preliminary Olympic team
Two Bundesliga players, Enzo Millot (midfielder, VfB Stuttgart) and Kiliann Sildillia (defender, SC Freiburg), may represent the host nation France in the upcoming summer Olympics. On Monday, Coach Thierry Henry named a preliminary list of 25 potential athletes. Still, he must make some final cuts as only 18 players will be allowed in the official team. As per French Football Federation's official announcement, the Olympics are scheduled to take place between July 24 and August 9.
The French team is slated to play matches against the USA, Guinea, and New Zealand in the group stage. The tournament mandates U23 teams but permits up to 3 players over 23 years of age in each squad.
