Structural change - Millions in funding for glass competence center in Torgau
A glass competence center is to be set up in Torgau with the help of federal structural change funds. According to the Ministry of Regional Development, 33 million euros will be made available for this purpose. The Ministry announced on Tuesday that the district of North Saxony would be able to expand the so-called GlasCampus in Torgau into an education and innovation center for the glass trade and glass industry. Companies could train and qualify their staff there. In addition, technology research is to be carried out in the field of glass.

The glass competence center will be located in the Municipality of Torgau, which is situated in the district of northern Saxony. Saxony, being a critical region in Germany's coal industry, will also benefit from this structural change in Torgau.
