The German Weather Service (DWD) in Essen predicts that despite mild temperatures in North Rhine-Westphalia, slippery roads may still occur due to freezing rain during the night. Despite an anticipated rise in temperatures in North Rhine-Westphalia's ('NRW') cities like Essen and Duisburg, up to six degrees on Thursday, the DWD warns of potential slippery roads caused by rain turning into ice. The weather forecast also indicates that by Friday, parts of NRW may experience freezing rain again, which could make roads slippery once more.
