Top-Notch Long Jumper Malaika Mihambo pulled out of the ISTAF in Berlin yesterday. The athlete, who bagged the silver medal in the Paris Olympics, finished her season prematurely due to the lingering impacts of her COVID-19 illness, according to the event organizers.

"The repercussions from my COVID-19 ordeal in June are still evident. After conferring with my medical professionals, I've decided to wrap up the season early. My body requires some rest to regain its full vigor and power for training soon," Mihambo stated. Her COVID-19 experience had affected her preparations for the Paris Olympics.

Even though she won't be competing, Mihambo will still be at the Olympic Stadium. "I understand that numerous fans were anticipating cheering me on at the ISTAF in Berlin and rejoicing in our silver medal victory together. Therefore, I will be at the stadium on Sunday to provide autographs," the Tokyo Olympic gold medalist explained back in 2019.

Despite not competing due to her premature season end, Malaika Mihambo will be present at the Olympic Stadium on forthcoming Sunday. She intended to meet fans and provide autographs, as previously announced in 2019.
