Diversity - Migration debate: Social Affairs Minister wants more objectivity
In the debate on migration, Lower Saxony's Minister of Social Affairs Andreas Philippi is calling for more objectivity. "Without migrants, Germany would look very different today," said the SPD politician in a statement published on Monday. The economic miracle after the Second World War would not have been possible without migrants. Even today, the economy is dependent on immigration.
"Today, more than two million people with a history of migration live in Lower Saxony," said the minister. Diversity is better than simplicity, "that applies in all areas of our society, especially against the backdrop of demographic change."
