Electric - Miele takes over grill specialist completely
Domestic appliance manufacturer Miele has also secured the remaining shares in barbecue specialist Otto Wilde Griller. After acquiring a stake in 2021, the family-owned company based in Gütersloh, East Westphalia, took over the remaining 24.9 percent of shares in December, as Miele announced on Wednesday.
The founders of the start-up, Alexander Luik and Nils Wilde, are stepping down from the company management, but will remain involved as advisors, according to the press release."Otto Wilde has great potential, which we want to exploit together and thus further expand our Outdoor Cooking business segment," said Miele manager Gernot Trettenbrein about the takeover.
Otto Wilde Grillers was founded in Düsseldorf in 2015 by mining engineer Otto Wilde. The company specializes in outdoor grilling with gas. With around 11,900 employees worldwide, Miele generated sales of 5.34 billion euros in 2022.
