Third-tier league - Midfielder Thalhammer joins Waldhof Mannheim

A lower-division football team, SV Waldhof Mannheim, is set to boost its midfield with Maximilian Thalhammer, a player boasting experience in the second league. The 26-year-old last played for VfL Osnabrück and has previously been associated with Regensburg, Ingolstadt, and Paderborn.

"During our analysis of the season, we identified the need for a powerhouse in our central midfield," said Anthony Loviso, technical director of Mannheim, in a club statement on Thursday. The club's search led them to Thalhammer, who has all the desired qualities. "Apart from his strong playing skills, Max also has great physical prowess, displaying his versatility in the 2. Bundesliga."
