2nd league - Michel returns to Paderborn
Sven Michel will shoot goals for SC Paderborn again. The 33-year-old striker is leaving FC Augsburg after only one year and returning to his former employer, for whom he played between 2016 and 2022. The Second Division team announced this.
The left-footed player completes the squad of the Paderborners for the coming Second League season just in time before the training camp at Walchsee in Austria begins on Sunday.
"Sven brings everything needed to add additional quality to our offensive roster. He has played several years at the highest German level and gained extensive experience at his stations. His dynamism, mentality, and personality will help us both on and off the pitch," commented Sport Business Manager Benjamin Weber.
Michel wore the Paderborn jersey 181 times in the past, of which 29 times in the Bundesliga, scoring 71 goals and setting up 42 others.
Sven Michel's return to SC Paderborn is happening in North Rhine-Westphalia, his original employer in Germany. This move comes after a brief stint with Bundesliga 2 team FC Augsburg. SC Paderborn is bolstering its squad with transfers, including the experienced striker. Sven Michel's signature will be beneficial for the Second Division team, given his accomplishments in Soccer's top leagues. His previous impressive performances with SC Paderborn include scoring 71 goals and assisting 42 times, mainly in the Bundesliga.
