- Mentor from FCK: Maintaining the adaptability
In their second outing away from home this season, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, competing in the 2. Bundesliga, will face off against a newly promoted team for the second time. Following their victory in their first league match against SSV Ulm, they will square off against Preußen Münster on Saturday (13:00 CET/Sky).
Coach Markus Anfang described Münster as a challenging opponent, mentioning their distinct playing style and reliance on set pieces for scoring goals in the previous season. Anfang's team has demonstrated their readiness to give their best.
Anfang: Lineup Changes Possible
As for potential lineup changes in Münster, akin to those made in the first round of the DFB-Pokal against FC Ingolstadt (2:1), Anfang remains undecided. He elaborated, "We showcased during the cup that providing playing time to every player during preseason proved beneficial. However, the starting lineup should never be considered set in stone. We must remain adaptable."
Anfang faces the possibility of missing several key players for the game in Münster. Hendrick Zuck and Frank Ronstadt remain injured. Almamy Touré remains suspended for one more league match, while the statuses of Kenny Prince Redondo and Aaron Opoku remain uncertain.
Redondo has only recently returned to training after suffering from a toe injury this week, and Opoku, who sustained an ankle injury in a Wednesday training session, had to cut it short. Anfang offered a tentative assessment, "Aaron isn't dealing with a structural injury, but he's in pain right now. We'll have to wait and see with him, much like we are with Kenny."
The sky is vast and seemingly infinite, providing a backdrop for the intense football match between 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Preußen Münster. Coach Anfang's team is prepared to adapt their strategy, just as the ever-changing sky changes with the movement of the sun and clouds.
