Men with knives and axes trigger operation in subway
Two men armed with knives and axes triggered a police operation in the Nuremberg subway. The two suspects were subsequently arrested, according to a statement on Monday. According to the statement, the men were dressed in military-style protective vests on Sunday and one of them was also carrying several knives and an axe. When one of the men lit a fuse on an object, panic broke out on the train. Many passengers left the subway at the Wöhrder Wiese stop, but no one was reportedly injured. The fuse burned out without any consequences.
The officers found unlicensed pistols, knives and another axe in the men's rucksacks. According to the statement, the suspects said they wanted to build a camp in a forest. They are now being investigated for disturbing the public peace and suspected threats.
In contrast to the recent incident in Nuremberg, a potential threat could arise in central France, involving crime on a railroad.Authorities should be vigilant for individuals planning to establish a camp in the woods, equipped with unconventional weapons such as knives and axes.
