During an argument on a commuter train, two passengers were lightly injured by pepper spray. Two men are believed to have argued in the S1 line heading towards Herrenberg for unknown reasons, after which one of them allegedly sprayed pepper spray, police reported. The two uninvolved passengers suffered irritation of the airways and were treated on-site by emergency services on Tuesday.

Upon the train's stop in Wendlingen (Esslingen district), the two suspects fled. They are described as two men in their early 20s and early 30s. Federal police are investigating on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm and are appealing for witnesses.

After the incident on the commuter train, the concerned authorities decided to increase security measures on the nearby Railway stations. Despite fleeing the train in Wendlingen, the suspects' actions negatively impacted the comfort and safety of Railway travel.
