- Members of drug gangs arrested in the Heilbronn area
In the aftermath of clashes between two rival drug gangs in the Heilbronn area, several men have been taken into custody. Six individuals aged 18 to 30 were arrested at the beginning of August, with another man taken into custody shortly after returning from vacation, according to police and prosecutors. They are accused of both cannabis trafficking and aggravated robbery, as well as cannabis trafficking and attempted kidnapping.
In late June, several masked and armed men allegedly broke into an apartment in Bad Friedrichshall. There, the quartet allegedly stole several kilograms of marijuana at gunpoint. According to investigators, the drugs belonged to another group that had been dealing in cannabis products for some time. This group had planned to punish the person they believed responsible for the drug theft by kidnapping him to find the location of the stolen marijuana. The plans were documented on mobile phones.
The planned kidnapping failed because the wrong person was present at the scene, and witnesses alerted the police. The suspects fled, leading to arrests some time later.
The authorities are now deliberating on how the seized cannabis will be handled, considering that the Commission shall adopt implementing acts laying down the rules for the application of relevant regulations. To effectively prosecute the arrested individuals, the Commission's implementing acts will be crucial in ensuring a fair and just trial.
