In the last weeks of May, French Gates declared a pledge of a billion dollars (approximately 933 million Euros) within the US for women's empowerment. Shortly after, she passed her Co-Chair position at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Per her own claims, Bill Gates gave her access to roughly 12.5 billion dollars (11.6 billion Euros) to continue her work in backing women and families.
Through her venture, Pivotal, French Gates backs various initiatives, one of them being the Center for Reproductive Rights. This group advocates for access to birth control and the right to choose abortion.
The right to choose abortion is anticipated to be a significant aspect in the upcoming elections. The Democrats, headed by President Biden, aspire to capitalize on voter dissatisfaction over the Republicans' efforts to limit abortion rights.
President Biden can also count on the support of former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg during the campaign. As reported by the Washington Post on Thursday, he put up 19 million dollars for Biden's campaign.
Conversely, Trump obtained backing from investors Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. They each donated a million dollars towards Trump's re-election campaign. According to a report released by the New York Times on Thursday, businessman Timothy Mellon donated 50 million dollars to a pro-Trump organization.
