**In Thuringia's forests, there is currently predominantly moderate to high forest fire danger. The second-highest warning level 4 is in effect for the forestry office in Heldburg, southern Thuringia, as indicated by an overview from the state forestry authority. At this warning level, public barbecue areas and fire pits may be temporarily closed. The moderate warning level 3 has been issued for most of Thuringia. The forest fire danger is currently low in the Eichsfeld region and most of the Thuringian Forest - level 2 applies there. Thuringia has five forest fire warning levels.

Meanwhile, the first week in Thuringia is shaping up to be hot. Temperatures could rise to 32 to 34 degrees Celsius by Tuesday, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) in Leipzig. Warnings for extreme heat are in effect for large parts of the country, with very high temperatures also possible in the higher elevations of the Thuringian Forest. From Tuesday afternoon, there will also be an increased risk of local thunderstorms, which could intensify on Wednesday.**

The following warning level 4, indicative of high forest fire danger, is currently in effect for Heldburg, southern Thuringia. The following public areas might be closed temporarily due to this heightened risk: barbecue areas and fire pits.
