Soccer - Media report: HSV in talks with Breitenreiter
Shortly before the last game of the year, Hamburger SV is speculating about a new coach. According to Sky, the second-division soccer club has held talks with coaches Friedhelm Funkel and Andre Breitenreiter. "More are to follow with the latter," reported the pay-TV broadcaster. Hamburg are also said to be looking at other coaching candidates. HSV coach Tim Walter has recently come under increasing criticism.
HSV lost 2:1 to SC Paderborn last Saturday and had previously also been defeated by Hertha BSC on penalties in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. HSV are currently only fourth in the table. Hamburg are already four points behind the top two.
Ahead of the upcoming match at 1. FC Nürnberg on Saturday (13:00/Sky), Walter had put discussions about himself on the back burner. "It's not about me, it's purely about HSV."
