Media: American actress Gena Rowlands has died at the age of 94
Rowlands passed away surrounded by her family at her home in Indian Wells, Southern California, as reported by TMZ. An official cause of death was not immediately given. In June, her son Nick Cassavetes told the "New York Times" that Rowlands had been suffering from Alzheimer's for five years.
Rowlands' career is inextricably linked to actor and director John Cassavetes, whom she was married to for 35 years until his death in 1989. Together, they made films like "A Woman Under the Influence" and "Gloria, the Gangster's moll". After her husband's death, Rowlands appeared in films such as "Night on Earth".
