The sport of basketball - McCray assumes the role of head coach for Crailsheim's basketball team.
David McCray becomes the new coach for the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim. This 37-year-old, from Speyer, has signed a two-year contract not tied to any league, as the club shared on Thursday. McCray was previously part of MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg's coaching staff and used to play for them as well. Taking over from Finn Jussi Laakso, Crailsheimers, McCray had caught their attention during their first discussion.
The team from Crailsheim was relegated from the basketball Bundesliga during the last season, but there's still a chance for promotion through a wildcard process. Only Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt will be promoted from the Second League.
Crailsheim's sports director, Ingo Enskat, shared McCray's appeal saying, "He convinced us with his basketball concept, his energy, and his enthusiasm right from the first conversation. It felt like we had found someone who thinks like us."
