MBC Syntanics bring power forward Edwards from Israel
Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has completed its squad again. As the club from Weißenfels announced on Wednesday, 27-year-old power forward Vincent Malik Edwards has signed a contract until the end of the season. The American previously played for Israeli first-division club Ironi Ness Ziona, where he had played two games in Champions League qualifying and one in the national league before the outbreak of war. After Stefan Bircevic's contract was terminated due to his knee injury, there was a vacancy in the MBC squad.
"Vince is a good shooter and a solid defender. After several years in the G-League, he was able to get used to European basketball last season in France," Head Coach Predrag Krunic is quoted as saying in the press release. "I'm convinced that he will quickly find his feet with us and in the Bundesliga." Edwards will not be able to be with the team for the upcoming away game at the Rostock Seawolves on Friday (8 p.m./Dyn). He is expected to make his debut in the clash at Alba Berlin on November 19.
The signing of Vincent Malik Edwards by Syntainics MBC further strengthens their Basketball Bundesliga squad. Prior to joining Syntainics, Edwards played for Israeli first-division club Ironi Ness Ziona in both Champions League qualifying and the national league.
