The sports article will focus on soccer. - Mbappé finally becomes a monarch.

Kylian Mbappe is now a Real Madrid player. The 25-year-old, who won the 2018 World Cup and was runner-up in the 2022 World Cup, has fulfilled his long-held dream of joining the Champions League winners. Mbappe signed a contract that will run until June 30, 2029, just 44 hours after Real's 15th Champions League win.

It was already clear weeks ago that Mbappe would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain after seven years. He had wanted to join Real Madrid in 2020, but instead chose to extend his contract with PSG until June 2024. His final decision to join Real was a tightly-kept secret, with the only question being when the move would be announced.

French President Emmanuel Macron revealed the news during a visit to the French national team's headquarters in Clairefontaine, saying "Tonight." And that's exactly what happened. Mbappe seized the opportunity to make his move official without a buyout fee but, according to reports, the player and his agents will receive around 150 million euros.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi had said to Mbappe, "You can't leave without a buyout clause and strengthen our biggest rival." However, at CNN, he had more flattering words about Mbappe, calling him the best player in the world and saying that he joined PSG as a "18-year-old boy and now he's a big man."

Mbappe explained his decision to stay with PSG in 2022 by saying it was about more than just staying at the club. The World Cup in Qatar was also a factor. France's title defense failed in the final against Argentina, with Mbappe missing a penalty against his former PSG teammate, Lionel Messi.

The European Championship is taking place this year, and France's match against Austria on June 17 is scheduled. Real's win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on Saturday might have played a part in the announcement timing. Interestingly, PSG lost to Dortmund in the semi-finals, and their dream of winning the most important club title still hasn't come true.

It's going to be intriguing to see how this team can continue without Mbappe, who's considered one of the best players in the world at the moment. European club coaches like Hansi Flick of Barcelona will be keeping a close eye on the situation. Mbappe also wants to leave a lasting legacy in Madrid, continuing the tradition of famous French players like Zinedine Zidane and Karim Benzema.
