- Matthews offers insights on Bavaria's management of Goretzka's situation.

Athletic figure Lothar Matthäus, renowned footballer, expresses thoughts on League champion Bayern Munich's player, Leon Goretzka. "If Goretzka believes his prospects have dwindled in Munich, he must decide his own course," Matthäus stated in his Sky article. "As an outsider's observation, I find their handling of him reasonable."

Matthäus, during his stint as Rapid Wien manager, received club hints about certain players' exorbitant costs. "Goretzka's contributions to Bayern Munich are indisputable, yet it seems the coach or higher-ups favor others. The club has urged Goretzka to explore fresh teams," Matthäus wrote.

Bayern Munich's midfielder finds himself in a challenging situation. He was omitted from the squad for the DFB-Pokal showdown against SSV Ulm on Fridays (4:00 PM). Speculation surrounds him as a transfer prospect. "As of now, there's no significant chatter about potential offers," sports chief Christoph Freund shared, "but certainly, there are interested parties eyeing Leon Goretzka, given his exceptional playing abilities." Goretzka's contract extends until June 30, 2026.

In the context of the German Bundesliga, Leon Goretzka's future with Bayern Munich continues to be a topic of discussion due to his limited game time. Despite Lothar Matthäus, the former Rapid Wien manager, finding Bayern's handling of Goretzka reasonable, some speculate that Goretzka might consider a move to another team.
