Mannheim - Masterless suitcase causes platform closure
Due to a lost luggage, part of a platform at Mannheim Hauptbahnhof was closed on Saturday afternoon. The closure was lifted in the evening as the luggage content turned out to be harmless, according to a spokesperson of the Federal Police. The closure lasted around 30 to 45 minutes during which they searched for the owner and checked the luggage for explosives. No trains were running on Track 1 during this time, but they were on the other tracks.
The lost luggage turned out to be a false alarm. No explosives were found. The platform reopened in the evening.
The lost luggage was found near Mannheim Central station, causing the emergency closure of a platform in Baden-Württemberg. Despite the confusion, all trains continued to operate on other tracks.
