A bioenergy facility in the district of Bernkastel-Wittlich went up in flames on Wednesday night. The inferno ignited in the mechanical heart of the plant, as per police reports. Thankfully, the firefighters managed to keep the blaze contained, stopping it from spreading to adjacent structures. The extinguishing process took several hours to complete. Early estimates indicate that the financial loss could amount to figures in the hundreds of thousands.
