Police operation - Mass brawl at Berlin school: crisis team mobilized
Following a mass brawl between pupils, teachers and police officers at a school in Berlin-Neukölln, the educational institution has convened a crisis team and called in school psychologists. The school supervisory authority was also informed, a spokesperson for the education administration announced on Tuesday.
On Monday morning, a fight broke out between several pupils at the school, during which young people sprayed pepper spray. The brawl spread: According to the police, a total of 49 children, young people and teachers suffered irritation and had to be treated by paramedics. The 52-year-old principal suffered a broken finger while trying to separate the youngsters who were fighting. Other teachers and police officers were also attacked. According to the police, the reason for the altercation was rather trivial.
"We remain in contact to ensure the best possible support for the school," said the education administration.
