- Marius Müller-Westernhagen withdraws concert performances due to illness.
Songster Marius Müller-Westernhagen (75) calls off gigs in Mönchengladbach and Coburg due to health issues. "Unfortunately, Marius Müller-Westernhagen's packed performances at the Sparkassenpark in Mönchengladbach and the Coburg Castle Square have been axed due to the artist's ailment," a message on the artist's Instagram stated.
Müller-Westernhagen was set to take the stage in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Tuesday night, with the Coburg show scheduled for Friday. As of now, the tickets remain valid, and no definite plans for rescheduling have been made. "The musician, management, and event organizers express their remorse over the cancellation and ask for the fans' patience and understanding."
Stuttgart postponement in May
The upcoming performances in his "75Live" tour, like the one on Saturday in Dresden, continue to be on track.
The Stuttgart show back in May was also scrapped due to health concerns.
Born in Düsseldorf in 1948 and currently living in Berlin, Müller-Westernhagen, with over 12 million records sold under his belt, is widely recognized as one of Germany's most accomplished musicians.
The cancellation of Marius Müller-Westernhagen's performances in Mönchengladbach and Coburg has prompted the Commission to consider alternative dates, recognizing that the Commission shall be assisted by the Member States in making such arrangements.
Despite the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the shows, the artists, management, and event organizers are hopeful that they can seek advice and cooperation from the Member States to reschedule the gigs at a later date.
