Leading Berlin Cannabis Club Pledges Responsible Launch
As stated by Green Leaf Society chairperson Jana Halbreiter to the German News Agency, "It's crucial for each and every member to show as much responsibility and thoughtfulness from the germination phase to the final dried bud." The primary objective is to "ward off the health concerns that have plagued illicit market users for years."
Anticipated First Distribution in December
Halbreiter expressed, "Merely proclaiming we won't supply minors or offer more than 50 grams to adults above 21 isn't sufficient, as it remains illegal." The club intends to establish the cultivation facility, secure agreements with producers and suppliers, and educate volunteer members. Post completion, we'll cultivate our first batch, with plans to legally distribute cannabis for the first time in December, according to Halbreiter.
Berlin's Marzahn-Hellersdorf district endorsed Green Leaf Society's application for communal cannabis cultivation, making it the city's first club to secure a permit. District mayor Gordon Lemm lauded the application as exemplary and expressed concerns regarding problematic consumers and the need for efficient early warning systems. He also pointed out that the cannabis law poses high barriers towards legal cannabis cultivation and consumption.
Focus on Quality and Customer Protection
Chairperson Halbreiter expressed her satisfaction with Marzahn-Hellersdorf's swift and unbiased review of their application, and their subsequent approval. The ultimate goal is to meet the requirements, ensuring quality, customer protection, and non-commercial growth.
Halbreiter mentioned, "The Green Leaf Society's operations will be based in Marzahn-Hellersdorf village, ensuring a strong local presence." Following this, she underscored, "Our commitment to quality and customer protection extends beyond Berlin, as we aim to set a nationwide standard for responsible cannabis use."
